After leaving London about 20 minutes late we made good progress. As usual the flight was full. When are Qantas flights never full? Aaron and I each got about 6 hours sleep. As is the custom, the cabin crew kept the cabin dark until 3 hours before arrival in Singapore; by this time 2.30pm local Singapore time, then served breakfast. The aircraft was subject to ATC holding and by the time we did a large circle and landed at 6.05pm we were over half an hour late....

We departed Perth at 5pm off runway 21. A right turn and a beautiful overfly of Perth city - haven't seen Perth like this since my days flying from Jandakot. Unusual route taken instead of coastal over Geraldton and crossing the coast at Exmouth we flew inland and crossed at Port Hedland. Aircraft a B777 configuration 2-5-2.
