Well it’s the 4th of Feb and I have started my trip around Australia, however have just realized that I have missed out 5 days. . . . . ?!?

So, before I tell you about the first day of my trip, I will just highlight what I have done over the last few days. Well what I can remember anyway, as there were a few late ones!

I went out for a curry with Benny’s good mates, which are my new found friends, Pete, Josh and David! I will now probably be popping back over to Oz for Pete’s wedding in May and to see Benny! The curry was nice and we had a good laugh, mozying on over to the Base Backpackers for a quick bevy later. . . . Me and Josh stayed out late and chatted to loads of people. . . .

Later on in the week I went to the zoo with Simone, which was great fun, however extremely hot, so most of the animals were crashed out!

Friday night was my proper last night in Melbourne and St Kilda, so arranged to meet up with Josh early doors and sat in a great bar / restaurant called the Stoke House, which sits nicely on the beach. . . .We had plenty of drinks and a bite to eat and watched the sunset! We were meeting up with Pete and Dave and maybe their girls later, but the evening was going good. . . . ! We then headed to the The Vine Yard, my other favorite bar and the other guys met us. . . we then headed to another bar and ended up in this club til the early hours! I got in about 4am. . . . Yeah baby!

So, needless to say, I had to chill on Saturday, well actually pack my bags, etc. . . . ! I had some food at my favorite café and then helped Simone with her computer and iPod. . . . I then went for a drink with a friend and went back to sort the rest of my stuff out. . . . Had an early night then got up fresh as a daisy ready for my trip. . . .

And now here I am, it’s 11.45pm, I am absolutely knackered, however, know that if I don’t update this I will forget and well, you know. . . .Whatever!

So, I got picked up at 7.30, well they were a little late. . . and I got on the bus. . . There was to be 14 of us in total, a right mixed bunch. . . @ Canadian pensioners, 2 Canadian girls, A French guy, a Italian guy, a couple from Switzerland, some girls from Germany and few others. . . I was the only English person. . . .

So we hit the road and got to our first stop of Torquay which is the start of the Great Ocean Road, plus the birth place of the Surfer brand Rip Curl. We stooped there for an hour and I had some Brekky, then we went to Bells Beach (as mentioned in the film Point Break – with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze). We carried on down the Great Ocean Road and did several short stops for pictures. We saw Koala bears in the natural habitat, then stopped at one of the small towns and had our picnic lunch, before heading off again. . . . We stopped for a swim at another one of the small towns, which was awesome. . . .Great big waves. . . Loved it!

After that, we moved to the 2nd part of the Great Ocean road, the so called ‘Green part’. The first being the beachy stuff, the 2nd being the greeny forresty stuff and the 3rd being the rocky bit. . . so, the first stop in the green bit was ‘Maits Rest Rainforest Walk’. This was a nice 30 or minute walk through a rainforest, now that’s not to be mixed up with a ‘Tropic’ rainforest. . . . But from the pictures, I am sure you can see it was gorgeous?!? Great huge trees, etc. . . . !

Again after a few more stops, we found the 3rd part of today mammoth journey, the Rocky part of the Great Ocean Road. We stopped at a great little beach where you go down 70 meters of steps and you see 2 of the huge rocks standing in the ocean. . . . We then headed to a little town called Port Campbell where were staying for the night. . . We got ourselves sorted into the dorm and all contributed to making dinner! After dinner, we headed back down the road to the so called ’12 Apostles’. Now then, there are only 10, they are not together and hey, whatever. . . It was gorgeous, we saw the sunset and well. . . . Look at the pictures, I think they say it all. . . . . ?!?!?

So, that was the first day of my adventure. . . In a word. . . . Awesome. . . ! I cannot stop smiling guys. . . .
