2nd day. . .
Not the best start to the day, as I had to help change the wheel of our bus, as it had gone flat overnight! Doh. . . ! Bobby to the rescue again! Slight problem though, as the bus we were in did not have any of the right equipment or a wheel wrench. . . Luckily there was another bus full staying at the same place and the driver (Bill), nice bloke had stuff, so me and him changed the wheel, I got very dirty, but enjoyed being the savior. . . .
We went to a viewing point to seethe other apostles. . I took my very first helicopter flight which was awesome!
Saw the Kangaroos, went for a night walk. . .
Sorry a bit woolly here, I didn’t update it at the time!
3rd day
Well we got up nice and early again and went for a mountain walk. . . And blimey, it was quite a hike for first thing trekking up the side of a mountain. . . . Really enjoyed it and lead the way. . . . Think I am sort of the daddy of the group. . . But they are a great bunch. . . . ! And it is quite nice being the only English person!
Adelaide for 2 nights. . .quiet place. . . Didn’t meet up with Shelley, which was a shame! But still went out for a bit the first night. . . . The backpackers place was ok, other than the fact that it smelt very bad in my dorm. There were a few guys in there that didn’t seem to do anything, but stink in their own dirt and grime! The next day was really nice, I got up early and got out of the stinky room and headed off in search of a café on one of the main streets and found a quiet busy place. Lot’s of locals going to work and getting coffee’s, etc. . . . I did my usual of lots of OJ, a coffee and a bite to eat before settling in to updating my journal, etc.. . .
Later on that day, I headed back to my dorm to dump my laptop and any excess weight and headed out of the city on a tram to the nearest beach.
What a really nice place that was, a long main street with all it’s shops n stuff and a main square with all the bars and restaurants! I hit the beach first, lay out and crashed for an hour or so. I did actually fall a sleep! I then had a bite to eat (Fish n Chips – hmmm yum yum) before taking a walk. I popped into a few shops, bought another book and a proper water bottle, ready for my adventures!
Once back at the square, I found a great seat outside a bar called The Dublin. . . . Now, I will give you 3 guesses what I had to drink. . . No, 1 guess! Yeah yeah, of course, I had a Guinness. . . Well several actually. I sat there on the square reading my book and watching the world go about its business for hours. . . . Awesome!
I then got a phone call from Alicia and Marilee asking if I wanted to meet them for a beer later, so being a no brainer, said yes and headed back homeward to get ready. . . I met the girls and we had a good laugh. . . Drink so beers and played some pool in the Bar on Gouger. . . (Gouger street – they keep it simple!). We went for a bit of a evening walk around the city later that night, which was nice, as I saw stuff I hadn’t seen, like the river and gardens. . . . The only not so good thing about that night was that some lads seem to think it was funny to drive round and egg people. . . Yes, we got egged! One bounced off my leg and landed in Alicia flip flop, which wasn’t so good. But still, I suppose you had got to laugh?!?!?!
So, I was up the next day, bright and early. . . 5.45am. . . And ready to head off on my Heading Bush Adventure. . . . I am actually currently 3 days into the trip and having a fantastic time. As you can imagine, this trip and my laptop are not the best of friends, all the dust and stuff. . . so, I can only apologise in advance, as the updates will be short and the photos will have to tell all the stories. . . . !
