Day 7: after a night of heavy rain we rose early to watch the sunrise to find that unsurprisingly the sun was obscured behind dense cloud. A disappointment but it did mean we were ready for today's drive nice and early.
First stop was Eden for provisions. Tim-Tams for the journey!
Next we visited Mallacoota which is renowned for it natural estuary and waterways. We decided that the best way to see them was to hire a boat. Our choice was perhaps less than ideal as it had a top speed of 4.5knots, which was pretty much stopped compared to all the other boats whizzing around the place. Nevertheless we navigated ourselves safely around the main area and found out way back to the jetty where we impressed the owner with our boatmanship by berthing gently into place (he wouldn't have been so impressed if he saw us miss the jetty entirely on our first attempt).
Onwards after a cup of tea at Gipsy Point to our destination for today, Cape Conran. Another beautiful unspoiled beach, a little let down by the persistent rain.
Hopefully tomorrow the rain will stop and the sun will come back.
