G'day from Nature World We arrived here not quite knowing what to expect but we thought why not. It soon became clear that this wasnt just your normal wildlife park but a rescue centre. I was delighted cos I had been desperate to visit a rescue centre especially as the equivalent to Rolph Harris' animal hospital is on TV here. We arrived in time for feeding time and was kind of thrown in with the bloke just lashing the food at the Kangaroos, they all came from no where, all species together, it was like a scene from Born Free. The daddy kangaroo was a bit intimidating (see the photos of him standing up) but still everyone seemed to get a piece of the action. The bloke running the centre is from Devon UK, he was really informative about the animals and even let us feed the kangaroo (see photo). He introduced us to Daisy the Wombat and she was the cutest thing I've seen, she could give Bonnie a run for her money with the carrots though as she chomped through loads. Next up was the albino wallaby who for obvious reasons was in the centre (not very good at disguising herself in the bush) she was cute and its the first time we had seen an albino animal. Onwards to Snapper the Tassmanian Devil, we had heard about these things but weren't sure what to expect. Snapper was quite small but the roar out of her would scare the biggest of animals, the bloke got here out of her bed and she not amused at the disruption, she carried on woeful roaring her little heart out. We werent allowed to hold her, but we did get our photos taken with her. We saw other animals including snakes and eagles and ended up spending most of the day there. We had a fab time and the bloke running the centre was brilliant. It was so nice to see a rescue centre and the space the animals had was huge. I felt like Mrs Doolittle during my time with the animals, but its time to move on again. Heading to Cardle Mountain National Park now so will keep you updated with the that one.
