The story so far....
Since we last wrote we have had 3 days relaxing on white sand beaches of Zanzibar. It was good to get some surf and Rob was an embarrassing Kareoke King specialising in the Beattles. We had an amazing day out on a boat snorkelling on a reef with very colourful fish and Dolphins. The water was so clear and warm. We also had a night in Stone Town where Rob soaked up the history and we toured all the old colonial buildings.
From Zanzibar, it was back on the road through Tanzania and into Malawi. We had 5 nights beside the huge lake Malawi where we upgraded to a chalet right on the waters edge.
Now we are in Zambia - South Luangwa - where we are camping beside the river full of hippos. The camp is all open so the hippos and elephants wander thru at their leisure.
Yesterday we came face to face with a huge tusked elephant whilst walking beside the river - it was less than 5 metres away and I was thankful for the big tree we could hide behind.
The weather is still mixed with mainly sunshine during the day with the wickedest thunder showers in the afternoon and night. We are off to Lusaka and then Zimbabwe next week.
We are over halfway through so see you in the UK soon.
Rob and Kylie
