The story so far....
Come to Africa and see the BIG FIVE they say - well we now have!!!!
We have spent the last three days in the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater and have seen every animal you could wish for. Of course in the photos we show you they may only be distant dots but we were right in the middle of the biggest zoo in the world. The weather was mixed with a couple of downpours as we are now entering rainy season, but it meant we witnessed the first stages of the great migration with 1,000s of Wildebeest on the move.
On many occasions we actually got very close to the animals, and one particular time a bull elephant was about 10 metres from the vehicle and looked like he was going to charge, Kylie remarked "is anyone scared because I am!!" Even the driver later admitted we had a close shave although at the time it was just absolutely thrilling. Lions, Cheetahs, Leopard (with kill), Black Rhino, a Serval (look that one up) Zebra's, Jackals, Hippos, Giraffe, Hyaena and more were all happy to come and see Kylie and I, and pose for a couple of pictures. Kylie even took a couple of bird photo's for you mum - although there were so many I will struggle to remember them all.
Typical though that my camera decided to fail but don't fear, plenty of back up with my digital and Kylie's SLR.
We also visited a Masai village which was fantastic - the tribe did a small dance and song whilst dressed in their finest red robes and custom made jewellery. They even invited us into their house made of cow-s***. Talk about getting in touch with Africa!
So that's it for now, we are heading toward the island of Zanzibar. We should get there in a few days and then spend another 3/4 days on the beach. Kylie can't wait for the seafood and I am looking forward to visiting the historic Stone Town.
All is good and we are both well. Love to All
