" THE MT KILIMANJARO EPIC " 6 days on the Mountain proved arduous, emotional and exhausting. But we MADE IT. There were moments when it could of gone the other way though - when Rob started hallucinating about lizards in the snow and I lost all sense of balance on a vertical scree slope at 5500m +. I certainly understand why they say its not aptitude but attitude and altitude that will stop you from being successful. It was magic at the top for sunrise after 6 1/2 hrs walk but all I wanted to do was lie down and sleep. Reaching the top was an amazing experience and words can't do it justice but I have the blisters the size of Africa on my heels to prove it, and Rob has the photos... Sorry guys even at 5895m altitude he still managed to get the camera out. (By the way - the photo is not Mt Kili, this is a small hump in comparison). We look forward to seeing everyone and chatting about the experience more - at the moment we are still recovering and a bit overwhelmed. Tomorrow we start our 8 weeks to Cape Town with 3 days in the Serengiti - 3 days without showers will be a doddle after 6 days of mountain sweat. Love to you all and thank you all for the messages.
