Hooray for long weekends and being able to get away! Left after school on Friday and made it to Kingston, SA, home of the big lobster. Goal was to make it about half way to Mt Gambier and we did. Next morning drove through a couple pretty seaside towns, Robe and Beachport, even ran into some friends in Robe (hello Mitchells), stopped at the Tantanoola caves along the way. Great little spot! Things still limited due to COVID but this was our first chance to get away and we found enough to do. Made it to Port Macdonnell where I had booked a bnb, it was beautiful although a little chilly! Managed a dinner and breakfast actually at a restaurant. Next day we did the Umpherston sinkhole, and narnacoorte caves. The whole area has multiple caves and sink holes around, really quite strange. On the way back on Monday, we stopped at mount Schank, Little blue lake, this cool spot where years ago a farmer had dug out this km long ditch to drain his property, and I can't remember the name of it, as well as made a pit stop in the Coorong national park for a gorgeous sunset. Highlight of the weekend found Reese pieces at a gas station in Meningie! Haha
