It is the end of a long day and we are all exhausted, except for Holly who is still energized from seeing her friends and cousins, and from having her hair and makeup done by Shauna. She is upstairs watching Big Brother with her auntie Leslie. Hopefully Hayden won't get voted out or the drive tomorrow could potentially be very painful for all of us. We left Leslie's house at around 11 am today and headed to the St. Norbert Provincial Heritage Park. There is a house on site that I am in love with and we have been toying with the idea of building a few years down the road and so we decided to take pictures. I believe it is called the Bohemier House and it is beautiful. With pictures accomplished we headed into town where I was dropped off at Polo Park to have lunch with my good friend Tammie. We had a cosy yummy lunch at Moxie's of broccoli cheese soup and clubhouse sandwiches and got to unwind over good conversation and good laughs. It was great to see her again. Thank you Tammie for lunch and for making me forget the craziness of a thirty day cross country trip with three kids:). While at lunch, James whisked Holly off to her 1pm appointment with Shauna who gave Holly an age appropriate makeover - a beautiful job. Holly really enjoyed being there and really loved Shauna's home and her animals. It was also a semi tourist attraction as she got to see Shauna's notorious Siamese kitty Annie, whom I think of whenever I see peacocks :0 James and Cooper then picked Holly up and took her to her friend Emily's house where she stayed for the remainder of the afternoon. James, Cooper and I met up at Polo Park and we floated about Winnipeg killing time until the Boston Pizza gathering at 6pm. Everyone was able to come. Brooke got to sit with her bosom buddy Liesl and her new pal Charlee and Cooper. Holly had a separate table with all her friends (Kathryn, Kayla, Aimee, Nicole, Emily, Tyler, Kris, and Ethan) and cousins Amanda and Jennifer. We remained at an adult table with another good friend of mine, Pam, Karl, Robyn, and my grandmother, and my uncle Mike and aunt Diane. Two hours nearly flew by and after getting the big one eye look from staff, we realized it was time to draw the night to a close, after taking perhaps a hundred pictures. It was great to see everyone, including Jennifer (Aimees' mom) who popped in near the end. We hope to do this every August and keep in touch. Great day, great friends and family, great food and, certainly, great memories. We head home bright and early in the morning and we are grateful for the graciousness of Leslie and Richard for allowing us to stay with them and taking care of us. Thank you!!
