Helloooooooo
It is Sunday 23rd over here and it's really Christmas!!! My mum arrives in 2 hourse so we are going out to meet her at the airport soon.
Well what have we been up to?
We went out last Sunday for Graham's birthday and he took us to a nightclub in a refurbished church on top of a shopping plaza in North Sydney - very nice venue - but it opened at 2 in the afternoon and closed at 10pm!....and it was hard core rave music!!! There were some hilarious characters there - fluro mania, jumpsuits, raving in the rain (the dance floor was outside) with black bin liners on !!! It was a really good laugh tho and nice to go somewhere that was a bit different!
We had our surf lessons on Tuesday and it was amazing fun, we only had 4 in our group so got 1 on 1 tuition, we went to Boat Harbour, 1hr South of Sydney, near Cronulla to a private beach that was empty!! Our instructor had been professional and he was pretty damn good but within a few hours Iain had mastered it and was standing up for a little bit, i wasn't quite such a pro - more like 10 sec stand up and then fall off!! It was so much fun and Iain's desperate to go surfing again so when we take my mum to Bondi he's going to hire a board and get in with the pros!!! My arms and chest were agony for the next 2 days - hard work pulling yourself upright on the board in water!!
On Thursday, we left our Bondi accommodation (along with Iain's glasses which he didn't notice were missing fir 2 days - old squint eye - but we got them back!) and checked into Sheraton on the Prk in Sydney's city centre - lovely hotel, very modern and our room was more like a suite - had a roof top pool and spa too!! We lived like Kings & Queens for 3 nights and some nice cocktails last night and a mega buffet breakfast this morning. We have been doing our xmas shopping this week, just little things that each other need for the rest of the travels and have checked into a suite at the Radisson where we'll stay for the next month with my mum. We have spent today getting food shopping and putting up xmas decs and our tree & pressies in the suite - so it looks very christmassy now and we have got our santa hats to go and meet my mum with!
Not sure what we'll b up to tomorrow but we have our nice posh meal ( Iain get's his roast turkey and veggies tho as that's on the menu - he's looking forward to it!) booked at Darling Harbour for Christmas Day and then we have the horse races on boxing day where can get all dressed up - the weather is meant to be grey and wet so it'll be umbrella ahoy over here!!
Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone and have a lovely few festive weeks!
C & I xx
