Hi All.
Well C and I picked up Diane from the airport safe and sound, we had a few drinks when we got back to the apartment, C and I had bought an xmas tree and some deco'a for the place to make it feel a bit more like xmas. Diane looked well considering a 20 odd hour flight.
We woke up on Christmas Eve and we took Diane around Darling Harbour to show her around and where we would be eating on Xmas day. We got our Alcohol and goodies in and wondered around George street where all the shops were.
That night we went to Darling harbour and bought fish and chips takeaway and sat by the bay next to the big blue xmas tree and listeined to the free carol singing. Channel 7 news was reporting on it so we are unsure if we were on television. We would have looked silly with our Santa hats on!!!!
Xmas morning which is a 11hrs ahead of you guys back home so I opened my pressies before you all!!!hee hee!! Mum called me in the moring and I got to speak to Dad to so that was cool and Mary and David phoned me as well. Missed Alex but will sure catch him soon.
We went to our restaurant which was a 5 course meal on the roof tops of Darling Harbour. Nice views, good atmosphere, great food!!!!
We woke up on boxing day and headed to the horse racing at Randwick. We all got dressed up and ready to win on the races. They started at 1:15 and went on until 6. 7 races in total. C picked the winner in the first, I won on the second with and each way bet and Diane won on the 3rd and 4th race. We didn't do well after that but the day was enjoyable.
The weather man also got it wrong and it was bright sunshine so no umbrella's were required.
On Thursday we took Diane around the Rocks (old fishing village) and the Opera House. We also booked our tour to climb Darling Harbour for after new year.
Friday we got up early in the moring and took a train journey to the Blue Mountains (called this because of the blue haze around the mountains). We saw some amazing falls, rock formations and views. We were all tired as there was a lot of walking and it was very hot.
Today we have checked out another viewing point for the new years eve fire works and we are glad we have as this new point has great views of Darling Harbour. We have had a wonder in the sales and bought our eskey (cooler box) and rug for the day. Just trying to find a radio!!!!
Tomorrow we are heading to Manly Island beech as the weather is still to keep good (27 degrees). We will get a ferry across and if there is surfing hire I will try to get Diane to do some surfing!!!!
Bye for now and Merry Xmas to you all, Try not to get drunk on New Year and best wishes to you all for 2008. Thanks for all the blog messages from you all they are great.
