July 9th. Copenhagen, Stockholm, Visby
Happy 15th birthday to Luke. Lucky kid got to spend it on a train, a plane, a bus, and a ferry boat. Today was our travel day to the island of Gotland in the middle of the Baltic Sea. Our flight from Copenhagen to Stockholm went smooth. The problem was that we weren't quite sure how to get down to the ferry that would take us to Visby, Gotland. Thankfully the Stockholm airport had a friendly tourist agent who helped us figure out how to get to our ferry. We had to take a bus from the airport to the Stockholm bus terminal and then take another bus to the town of Nynashamm where we boarded the ferry. The ferry ride was nice and relaxing. We arrived in Visby and met up with my parents, Paul and Barb. We will be traveling with them for the rest of our time in Scandinavia. Our lodging in Visby is the old prison. The rooms are a bit spartan (which is to be expected), so it should be interesting. The women are in one room and the men are in the other (that should also interesting). Once we settled in we went for ice cream at a place that has over 300 flavors. Our day ended watching the sunset over the Baltic.
