July 16. Osterhammers Estate, Orebro, bus to Oslo.
It never gets truly dark at night this far north. I woke up at 1:15 AM this morning and could still see light on the horizon when I looked out the window??!!??
We had a nice breakfast with Sverker and Birgitta. After breakfast, Luke, Ellie, Birgitta, and I fed the sheep. Luke is quite the sheep whisperer. He would make a sheep like call and the sheep would come running to him. I think he might have a future as a shepherd. We had a little time before we had to leave so Luke, Ellie, my dad, and I went for a walk on the property. We had to get our cars back to the rental place by noon, so sadly we had to say goodbye to our wonderful hosts and their beautiful estate.
We drove back to Orebro and my dad and I dropped off the cars. Since it took so long yesterday to get the cars, we got to know Markus and Nicole, the workers at the Circle K (same one as the US, but here they rent cars, too). They liked us so much they gave us free frappachinos for our walk back to the station.
We had an hour before our bus to Oslo, so some of us checked out Orebro. Everyone except the grandmas walked over to the Orebro castle. We could not go in, but we did check out some of the outdoor art pieces that were scattered around the castle. After quick looks in a couple of sports stores (sadly, no jerseys), we went back to the station to get ready for our bus trip to Oslo.
The bus trip to Oslo was uneventful and relaxing. We had a little trouble finding our place in Oslo, but we made it. We all went our own way for dinner and called it a night. Tomorrow we will spend the day in Oslo.
