Noose was our next stop along the coast, we checked into our YHA, which was pretty cool as it was near the centre of the town but as it was full wooden and set among the trees it kind of felt like a tree house! Gemma and Euwen were in the room opposite which made it all the better!
On our first day we wandered around the town, checking out the beach-very nice! Its wasnt long before we realised there was some money around Noosa so with that we headed to the supermarket to buy some food for dinner as eating out was definitley out of the question!
The next morning we headed up to the national park to take a walk along the coastal path with the hope of spotting a Koala! On our way back we were not disapointed as there up a tree fast alseep (for a change) was a big ball of grey fluff! VERY slowly it began to manouver its way up the tree to another sleeping spot! It was so cute. That afternoon we headed for the beach and couldnt bloody believe it when Shelly bumped into a girl she knew from Manchester- go all the way to Aus and you still bump into people! That night after our leftovers for tea we headed out for couple of drinks with gemma and euwen before waving them off the next morning to Brisbane (We were to follow on the later bus)...however we had a date with some crocs first...we were going to Steve Irwin's Zoo (Australia Zoo) for the day!
The zoo was awesome... we started out with some 200 year old tortoise- they were massive! Then we fed the elephants and then headed to see some crocs, we sat in the crocaseum as birds flew all around our heads and snakes were brought out into the audience, (Much to Richards delight.....not!) then they open the door and in swam the first croc! The workers were crazy making them run after them while waving meat in their faces and waving it above the water so they jumped out about 4ft to grab it! We also managed to stroke a Koala, feed a Kangaroo from our hands...you could literally lie down with them in the grass, and we watched a tiger show. The were traning some of the younger tigers while we were there, they were the cuttest thing but absolutely massive already. It was so funny watching them do ANY trick like climbing a tree, pouncing or bear walking all for a squirt of milk! We finished the day with some more croc action as a young lad was being trained on how to feed the crocs...bless him, we've never seen somebody so jumpy, it made us nervous just watching! We also saw a leucistic croc...basically he was the Albino of the croc world so he looked a weird yellow white colour, and therefore was named casper!
Crikey what a beauty of a day mate! And onto Brisbane we went!!!
