Earlish start - although weather not great - showery - try to visit Lake Wabby - another fresh-water lake home to cat-fish - but walk is too long so go to best lake on the island Lake Mckenziey. Better weather so go for a swim in the lake before heading back to ferry terminal to catch ferry back to mainland. Sort everything out with van hire and then pack up ready for overnight coach to Airlie Beach for Whitsunday sailing trip!

Day 2 on Fraser Island. Drive to Indian Head - a high cliff top area going far out to sea which is a tiger shark breeding ground - see turtles and stingray but no sharks or dolphins. Drive to other lakes and around the island. Park up with 3 other groups and repeat same performance of food and drink as last night.

Ridiculosuly early start - but loads to do before 9am ferry to Fraser Island - check we have all the correct camping equipment, tents, pots, pans, cutlery, cool boxes etc and pack up 3 days worth of food and drink we have bought into cool boxes in our 4x4 van - 11 of us in group, 3 seats in front and 8 people in back. I drive van to ferry terminal, difficulty pulling off ferry as we have worst of vans by far and clutch takes time getting use to, plus 3 diff 4x4...

Get Greyhound Bus from Noosa to Hervey Bay. Check into Koala's hostel then straight to briefing for our 3 day 2 night trip to Fraser Island - about 4x4 beach and track driving, camping, dingo safety. Mexican meal, a few beers and then pack bag for trip before early night as 5.15 wake up 2m!!

Arrive at Noosa early afternoon - up market beach resort with loads of nice shops and villas and apartments by the beach. Check out beach, town and board walk. Mexican food in hostel bar - Koala's and jugs everywhere, some great photos esp of 6ft plus 'monster of a girl' that nearly ate all of us in one mouth-full!!
