Walked around Auckland, checked out main roads and infamous 'K' road, harbour area and Sky City - home to loads of bars, resturants and casino. Globe Bar again for some reason - Battle of the Sexes - v amusing.

Left Paihia for Auckland - last leg in the camper van! Settled into ACB Hostel - great location in heart of Auckland, right below the Sky Tower and having only been there matter of minutes get persuaded by reception girls into $20 pizza and wine night in local resturant La Porchetta - goes without saying - definitely got our monies worth!! Checked out Globe Bar - apparently craziest bar in Auckland but being a Monday not v impressed!!

Early start - bus trip to 90 Mile Beach at very north of the North Island with Sand Safaris. -Stop offs at Gum Tree Park (wouldn't spend the day there Denis), Kauri wood museum. -Indulge in a little 'sand boarding' - going down massive sand dunes on boards and then climbing back up to do again - deep burns! -Reach most northly point Cape Reigna - light house - where Tasman Sea meets Pacific Ocean. -Drive back along 90 Mile Beach in bus - see car that didn...

Leave Whitianga for Kaitaia (north of Bay of Islands) - massive driving day 11.30 - 7.30!! Tongy easing us through the drive - Good Boy Pete!! Stop off Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach near Whitianga. Drive through Auckland up to Kaitaia. Chilled one in van.

Main Beach - Mt Maunganui - seagull feed - noodles! Drive to Whitianga - fishing town. Cinema 'Inside Man' Densel, Clive and friends. Diff Fri night - car park frying steaks in van.
