We have not been able to load our Hong Kong blog, but we are now home again and catching up with family and friends. We have had an amazing adventure.

Our second week in Melbourne started with another visit to the city centre by train. We walked to the Melbourne Museum passing the Royal Exhibition Building en route. We met Sulari Nielsen and the two boys in the park and spent the day with them in the museum. We visited the Tutankamun exhibition and then caught up with Sulari and the boys in the children's section. We have now moved to our last stop in Australia, Melbourne. We are staying with John's cousin, Philippa, and her husband, Max. We have met up with them a few times during their trips to UK. Initially we had to catch up on mundane tasks like washing clothes and also went shopping with Philippa, so first day was quite restful. We arrived in Sydney on Thursday 29th September and managed to get a minibus lift to our hotel which is fairly close to the city centre. As it was getting dark, we dumped our cases in our room and walked out to investigate somewhere to eat. We eventually walked alongside the Botanical Gardens to the point opposite the Opera House and Sydney harbour Bridge. What a grand view!! Awesome. Our last blog entry gave only a brief sentence about our trip above into the Atherton tablelands. We travelled by scenic railway to Kuranda, 328m above sea level. The journey was stunning. How the engineers ever built the railway without modern day tools!! The journey took an hour and a half through the jungle, through cuttings and tunnels and over bridges.
