I'd already been in Bangkok for a couple of days after the Full Moon Party, so this was the second visit, and probably won't be the last, so I'll keep this short.
On the first night I bumped into Cathy on Khao San Rd which is where most of the backpackers hang out. I'm not really sure why as it reminds me a bit of Faliraki, but if you are going to bump into someone it will be there. Anyway she was meeting a friend and it all turned into a bit of session. I do remember trying to convince one bloke that he was Simon Cowell in the later stages of the night.
Hungover and not feeling great the next day I only managed the local sights of the massive shopping centre MBK, and the cinema to watch the latest Batman movie. Next day was a bit more productive visting Jim Thompsons House, Chinatown, Lumpini Park, and taking a riverboat bus around part of the city.
Bangkok is fine but 2 or 3 days at a time is all you need here, as it's used as a hub for hitting all other parts of Thailand it serves it's purpose quite well. I'll probably be back in a few months after Nepal and India, and will try somewhere other than Khao San Rd.
