Hello from Ecuador!
We have spent the last 8-9 days travelling up through Peru along the coast into Ecuador which is green, lush and usually raining! Just like home except the temperature is about 25 degrees.
There is not a huge amount to report, we had 4-5 big drive days to get up here broken up by a stay at Punta Sol on the beach which was really nice and chilled out, we camped on the beach and spent most of the time reading a book in a hammock.
Yesterday we arrived in Banos (yes a town in a Spanish speaking country named after the Loo/ toilet/ WC etc!) Tomorrow we are off white-water rafting which should be great fun, they are grade 4-5 rapids (5 is the most difficult, biggest) so should be scary too!
The following day we are off to stay at a lodge in the Amazon at the ominously named Anaconda Lodge! Let´s hope it´s just a name. We are really looking forward to the Amazon and a real adventure, although everybody seems a little nervous of the close proximity of the wildlife... oh well we are a little truck weary so perhaps we might lose a member or two!
Until next time... have a good day.
