After yet another early start we headed for the South Australian town of Coober Pedy. This is where 80% of the worlds opal is found.
Because of the location in the desert the temperatures can reach the high 50's and even the low 60's in the summer and freezing in the winter, people live underground. They buy a plot of land for $50,000 and can dig down and build their house with the possibilty of finding millions of $ worth of opal.
We stayed in an underground place where the temp is a constant 21degrees all year round! It was nice and very spacious knowhere near as cramped as Rich thought!
The next day we got up at 5am and hit the road after breakfast for the 13hour drive to Adelaide! We stopped of at various servo's and saw huge road trains and at one possibly the nicest little dog you can ever imagine seeing, we definately both wanted to take it home (even Rich it was that cute!)
Hope everyone is well back home and coping with weather!
