Back in civalisation, after a pretty awesome three day trek in the North Thailand jungles, with some even more awesome people. Im not quite as good at downhill mountain biking as I assumed I would be, 1600m up a mountian, at cloud level, we started the 35km route down, which was going pretty well, until my bike got bored of me and decided I needed to say hello to the floor. My knee got on very well with it too, I needed a bit of time to recover before we headed into the jungle for the trek so we went to Pai. So we settled in Chiang Mai for a while, a nice change of pace after once again passing through through the scam-ridden, lovely little city of Bangkok. We arrived there (at the bus station) after another sleepless over nightbus journey to argue with several taxi drivers who wanted to charge us 300 baht for the '25km' journey into town, none of whom liked being told its was only 4.5km and should cost around 120 baht....(i'd done my research). Eventually we managed...

Another crazy adventure draws to a close as we move on tomorrow from Phuket. Its been an intense few weeks here, ended with a seminar delivered by Royce Gracie (UFC Hall of Fame and winner of UFC 1,2 and 4). Tomorrow evening begins the ordeal of us trying to back to Bangkok for a day or so before heading upto the North of Thailand to Chaing Mai (spelt something like that)... Same, same....but different! Such a popular phrase round here, you can buy t-shirts with it on. Basically, when you ask anyone about anything they give you the reply "same, same" which over here means completely different. For example "do you have a black medium t-shirt?" simple question to which you are handed a pale blue x-large with the answer "same, same". And it gets better.... "Is that meat" "yes"...
