India and Nepal 2022
I have no power from 4am this morning and so it is a cold bucket wash but I am looking forward to a hotel room tonight in Bangkok.
It is a condition that foreigners working in Myanmar need to leave the country every 70 days. I also discovered yesterday that if anyone visits me here, then they officially would have to stay in a government registered hotel.
I enjoy a very enjoyable chat with Murray, an Aussie married to a Thai woman and living in Bangkok - he is doing the reverse 'visa run'! He makes some really nice comments about my voluntary work in Myanmar and I am surprised but pleased to receive these comments.
Bangkok is full on but I intend to relax for a few days. I have been booked into a hotel on Sukhumvit 11, close to where I stayed a couple of months ago.
Only in Bangkok would the mini-bar and snacks list include condoms! Not only that, a small pack is on offer alongside the water, crisps and coffee!
I visit my favourite Australian bar and order burger and chips and the live music is good too. Tomorrow, I move my hotel base to a couple of blocks away, where there is a pool and I can exercise and recharge my batteries, ready for the next 70 days back in Yangon.
