Hi guys we left Kuala Lumpar on a high and went thankfully on a better looking bus to Melaka a British owned city back in the early 1900's. We arrived 1pm, a 3hour journey from the capital. We got dropped off at the Bus station and our taxi driver was little bit crazy I honestly thought he was going to ask me for directions at times!!
We stayed at a local guesthouse just outside of Chinatown called 'Kancil' a very polite run establishment owed by a very nice 'Malay' man who spoke very good English. It was very old fashioned but lucky enough as we always get the double rooms on tours our room was far better than the others....theirs were like prison cells!! We only stayed in Melaka 1 night so again we did a organised trip on a 'Trishaw' (guy riding bike infront) they even have music 'westlife' of all things was playing!! We went to a temple and stopped at a place which explained all about women having their feet bound in China-very cruel, didnt really wana stay there too long, there was hundreds of tiny shoes everywhere!!!! We also saw the tallest man in the world, his hands were HUGE! Wasnt too fussed on having photo taken because Ria felt it was really horrible to pay for everyone to havepics taken with a giant. The local guide was great and as a pass through destination Melaka was a very nice stop-off but 1 day was sufficient enough!! The funny thing is in the evening the group went to a local chinese food court for some local food and me,Ria,Laura & Shelly had a Pizza Hut and went to the cinema and watched 'World Trade Centre' a bit random I know but need some time with modern technology!!
The fun didn't end there the showers were situated outside the 2nd floor in old sheds 2 of them. Me & Ria waited patiently for our turn to go in the cold showers and when we did it decided to storm and electric went off with both of us all soapy hehe....we had to see the funny side of it and theres nothing quite like a cold shower in a pitch black shed, with cold water and a rainy walk back to the room!!! oh and lightning!!
We left 8am for singaore the next morning after topping up on Porridge yummyxx
We'll have pics on here soon!!
