After travelling from Greece via Italty the the length of France twice and throw in Spain, Portugal,Morocca, Gilbralter,Andorra and into England it was time for a service visit to Destination Triumph.
Arrivial at opening time was met with rain followed by heavier rain so a decision to travel to a nearby shopping centre during the service time was scrapped in favour of a warm showroom and unlimited free hot drinks.
having checked out the bikes plus accessories and clothing it could be getting a little boring then a semi trailer parked out front.
Not just any semi but one with 12 brand new Triumphs to be delivered.
Well with a busy driving schedule the driver who was new to this area as he normally does a run per day with Yamaha's and dirt bikes in Wales, had to work in the wet.
We watched as he eventually got the truck into the small parking area and opened the side curtains and unloaded his own forklift.
With a great deal of careful work he unloaded usually two at a time crated new Triumphs.
The limited space in the parking area meant the Destination staff had to work very quickly to remove the plastic covering, cut the tie down straps (normally carefully undone and resold) then remove from the metal crate each bike and showhorn it inside an already crowded showroom.
The truck driver bought a smile to our faces when he grabbed a motorcycle plastic bag and quickly fashioned a rainsuit offered some protection from the incessant rain.
However we did not gloat as we too suited up after the bikes were serviced and rode off into the mist and rain bound for our Hockley Heath hotel and my favourite Tomato soup.
