I have written unfortunately a number of personal reports on deaths during my visits.

While in Morecombe getting ready to catch the ferry tp Douglas news came of the death of Dan Kneen in practise.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dan on a past trip and tucked away in my personal collection is a photo signed by Dan.

He was born in 1988 in Douglas the capital of the Isle of Man and at the time of his death was living in Onchan IOM.

He was riding a Team Tyco BMW in Superbike qualifying when a first lap crash took his life.

He had enjoyed the highs of the TT but taking 3rd place last year in Superstock and had this year bettered his fastest every lap by setting an incredible lap average of 132.258mph or 220.43kph for the entire course.

The Mountain on this the 100th running of the TT has claimed another rider.
