The pit area at the 2018 Isle of Man TT races was almost deserted only team mechanics and some riders were in evidence.
It took me a few minutes to reorientate myself to the newly arranged pits.
The reason was to visit a couple of special places before racing go underway.
The Tyco BMW tent was half open, the open side was working on Michael Dunlop's bike.
The other side displayed an empty workbench and no bike however the screens were open for viewing.
In front of this space were a number of tributes.
I asked a mechanic how the team was holding up.
He replied "we are at 200%, 100% focused on giving our rider Michael Dunlop the best possible chance of a win in the first race today. The other 100% is adrenial in Dan;s memory.
My next visit was to the Dunlop stand where after a few words to a crew member I viewed and touched the tyres prepared for Michael's Tyco BMW.
Satisfied that I had two good omen's I left to watch the first race of season 2018 at IOM.
Those tyres worked.
The Tyco BMW achieved that special goal.
Michael was happy "I wanted to do something in Dan's memory. That (win) was for his family.
Philip Neil, Tyco Team Manager smiled the first since Wednesday nights fatal accident.
