Went to the beach early in the morning - surf was a bit safer than the previous day but the beach itself was a pigsty. For the past 10 days the ASEAN beach games have been held here and they have left a huge mess that has been floating out to sea so the beach is covered in all sorts of crap from the games. Most of it is things they have used for markers etc. really hope they get down there and pick it up before it washes out to sea. Really spoiling this beautiful beach.

Met Kara's friends family in at Hooters as Kara wanted a t shirt but they were charging 800 baht $30 for a t shirt . Just another Thai rip off . The Hard Rock Cafe is next door so we checked their menu and they wanted $25 for a burger - unbelievable. In the end we ate at this restaurant - had a few cocktails and cost $115 with tip for 8 of us which was ok but that's Patong.

Went for a stroll down Bangla Rd - considering it was only about 8.30 it was full of life and colour and oh so many people trying to get us to go to a ping pong show. Even the girls were repeatedly asked . Think that was an eye opener for Jarrod who is only 13!

Kara and Karla got their photo taken with lady boys but didn't realise it was 100 baht each and there was 2 of them so that cost them 400 baht - another life lesson for the girls.

This street would be absolutely manic later at night. It's closed off to traffic and would be so full on. Would have been a good place to stay and have a drink and just people watch.

Anyway that about as much as wanted to see so tried to do a bit more shopping before we went home. My quest for buying a t shirt for 100 baht continues ....
