Retirement Tour
We sadly left Rich & Vickies and made our way to the Coromandel peninsula. Beautiful scenery as we made our way along the East Coast towards Coromandel Town.
Just outside of Coromandel is the Driving Creek Railway built by Barry Brickell. It is a little Heath Robinson but a fantastic feat of engineering. Barry put down every sleeper on the track as it climbs its way to the top of a mountain towards the eyeful tower where you have a fantastic view over the bay.
It really is worth a visit if you are ever in this part of the world, or check it out on line. www.drivingcreekrailway.co.nz
We then had a very scenic drive along the West coast to Thames where we spent our next night.
