From Denmark to South America 26/12-2013 - 03/3-2014

Started flying from Denmark the 26/12-2013 at 06.00 Cph to Shiphol Amsterdam, where I meet up with my friend Jonathan Henderson /Cool English mate/ after 3 hours plus 2 hours delay we flew to Rio De Janeiro landed around 20.30 Brazilian time, had an airbus shuttle to our first hotel Linx, I can only recommend this place 15 minutes away from the airport, exclusive and a good way to relax and get some sleep after a long flight. For safety reason I would again recomend the Hotel Linx, of course Rio aint safe during night time.

The first couple of days started by seing the surrondings from our hostel /Copa fun hostel/ saw Copacabana beach, wonderfull sandy beach, great for getting some tan, went to Ipenema aswell even better beach were the beach is in minor sectors such as family sector, young sector, beauty secter etc... The day before new year we went to see Christ, hugh 30 metres high statue at the top of a hill, wonderfull place, you have a 360 degrees view at the top (City of God) Rio de Jenairo. If you wanna se the Statue at the top, be awere of the que, if possible book in advance and take the train, we stood in que for 6 - 7 hours in the sun!!!! Remember sun screen, hat and a lot of water..

NEW YEARS EVE

During the day we relaxed and drank a lot of juices, the fruit is outsatndig here, freshly squeezed juices all flavours, if you ever go to Brazil you must drink at least one a day, I have seen so many diffenrent fruits, I never thought excisted! Still the best is Orange, watermelon and ginger... We got a great Brazilian dinner at our Hostel, I would have written the dishes, but cant remember the names sorry, but tasted very well.. We left the the Hostel at 22.30 to meet up with one of ours friends, Brazilian friends.. at 00.00 we stood at the beach front at Copacabana with 2 million people, watching the fireworks above the water AMAZING, after it was a hugh beachparty, drinking a lot of Caiparinhas special Brazilian drink extremly strong and tastes good, probably killing every bacteria in you stomach. Kacacha/lime and icecubes. Because there was so many people me and a friends Keith, Amanda and Louise ended up at the beach celebrating new years awesome people..

Paraguay and Iguazu falls

We went for a daytrip to Paraguay, probably one of the worst orginized tours I ever been to, we supposed to shop cloths and electronics, but were taken to a market with old fruit and chickens just slaugtered in the backyard. The country is extremly poor and only survive by getting money from Brazil and sell illigal electronics, cars and weapons.. I wish for them a better future, I recommend you only go there by guided tours, due to you own safety. We are lucky to live in Europe!

Iguazu falls is wonderfull so beatifull i cant even describe it, never have I seen so hugh a waterfall and so much water, billions litre of water per hour, rainbows comming out of the water falls, if you ever come to South America is this the place to go!! Best place book the hostel called Bambu at the Brazilian side of the border.
