We set off from our free camp north of Three Ways on the 28th of June, stoping at Karlu Karlu / Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve at lunch time. Devils Marbles is located 105 km south of Tennant Creek 393 km north of Alice Springs. The area is important to, and has a long history with the local traditional aboriginal people. The marbles as such are granite rock. Over time weather has broken down large granite massess into the smaller rocks and round shape rocks that are left today. It's pretty cool to see how water penetrates into the rocks over time at a point they actually cleanly break in half. It was nice to have a walk around the area, the kids had a lot of fun mucking around here. Following this we headed south stoping at a rest area for the evening called McDouall Stuart Memorial which is around 200km north of Alice Springs.
