Well......we have returned from Rio and will be on detox for the next few months! Rio itself is one of the most beatiful cities ever and the climate is amazing. Christ the Redeemer was emotionally touching sight both for the views and the sheer size...I nearly cried! The sandy beaches are just a joy to be on and around and the people watching is out of this world! As we were there over carnival no doubt it was a different city to normal to Ren has promised to take me back there.....I can't wait! We met Renato's fellow footballer Richard (Nev!) & his wife Suriya who threw themselves into the carnival atmosphere with great gusto! Obviously we had to follow! We also met their friends Emma and Dave who, on their first day of a 3 month break, were attacked by men with a bread knife and a gun whilst strolling through a museum. All the visitors belongings were stolen (luckily not much) But they were safe and sound! All of us seemed to have the same taste for Caipirinhia's and tequila shots....there seems to be a connection somewhere! and we partied our way around Rio.....including the Sambadrome when it rained but the outfits were amazing! And our sunrise swim on Copacabana beach! Thank you all as it was a great time and can't wait to do the same in the UK (or NZ) over the summer!
