Today we awoke in the wee hours of the morning--11h30. Cecile took us to a wonderful lunch on the road to Aubagne. I ate a wonderful salmon with salad and Arielle ate a burger. She would like everyone to know that french ketchup is different but still good. We are enjoying the french practice of dessert after lunch, and both indulged in a scoop of dark chocolate ice cream which Arielle also believed was "different but still good". After lunch, we went to Cassis, the way to where is very beautfiul as you can see in some of our videos (and photos to be uploaded shortly). We took a boat tour of all the little coves along the coast and enjoyed the sun and the waves. Afterwards, Arielle and I went for a quick dip in the "Med" and soaked up a little more sun. There were not as many topless women as I remember, or Arielle anticipated. It was very crowded but very nice. We did a little shopping and returned home, taking the unbelievable Route des Cretes which goes high in the cliffs along the shore and found ourselves in La ciotat. We stopped at the train station there, which is where the first film was ever shot and publicly viewed. For Arielle, being a film enthusiast, this was quite an opportunity. We then returned to Cuges-Les-Pins where we have been youtubing and checking email, and where I have given my brain a little respite from its constant battle to speak, understand and remember French. Cecile just texted me that the pizza trucks in Cuges-Les-Pins are open and that is what we will be eating for dinner. Tomorrow we go to Old Marseille with more family of mine
