Colleen & Tom's Explorations
So.... Up at 4.30am Tahiti time (1.30am Sydney time) for pick up at 5.30am. Use up some of our Pacific francs for check out. Of course the other snack had not been taken off our bill, but the lovely reception man fixed that with no problem at all. Then began the long day to journey back home. The bus transfer to Tahiti airport, check-in, check out their duty free/souvenir shopping, board the plane. For the long flight back to Auckland we were fed brekky and I watched the Sandra Bullock movie "All about Steve", hmmm. Not my usual fare. We landed in Auckland and bought our duty free purchases during our two and a half hour stopover - very handy. Then we boarded the Qantas flight home. The cabin steward greeted us with "bonjour" because our boarding passes were produced by Air Tahiti Nui, and asked if we had enjoyed our stay, which was a nice touch. I watched Colin Firth in "Magic in the Moonlight" (with Lindsay Lohan and Jackie Weaver as well), which was not quite what I expected either, but that's Woody Allen for you. Interesting, I think the main characters of both of today's movies were on the autism spectrum! They fed us dinner on the flight, which landed in Sydney 25 minutes early. We used the new e-passport immigration check, our luggage was on the carousel in the first five minutes, we went through the "something to declare" lane and the seashell leis were fine, and we were out the door in no time at all, to be picked up by Shannon and Chari. What a wonderful, painless re-entry to Australia. ❤️
