Colleen & Tom's Explorations
After breakfast at "Millies" (the coffee shop) we were picked up by our tour company and put on a coach.
We drove up the "OJ Freeway" and saw the jail where he was held, and the courthouse where the trial was. We drove around downtown LA and saw lots of buildings used in movies and TV shows (True Lies, Pretty Woman, Hill St Blues).
We then went on to Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Boulevarde, Sunset Boulevarde, Melrose Ave where we saw the nightclub where River Phoenix died, and the shop where all the stars order their groceries from. We also saw Cedars Sinai Hospital.
We continued into Hollywood and Mann's Chinese Theatre where we saw Jim Carrey's hand prints (only made on Friday) - also those of Mel Gibson, Tom Cruisee, Shirley Temple and many others.
After our great guided tour we were taken to Universal Studios, arriving around 10.30am. We went straight to the Back to the Future ride (didn't like it that much - it was very imaginative and well done but jerky, and threw us around). We then went on the tram ride around the backlots - that was great. We went down the escalators to the bottom lots where we experienced part of the Backdraft set, and went on the ET ride. Then back up to the top for Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue, followed by the Wild West Stunt show.
back to the bus 6pm and back to Anaheim (good run - 40 mins).
