Been in Hanoi now for 3 days and its been non-stop fun!

The traffic out here is absolutley crazy - 10 times worse than Bangkok or Chiang Mai. They dont seem to have any rules. They drive on the footpath, thru redlights and on the wrong side of the road. Crossing the road is always a mission - u just have to walk out around the traffic! The taxis over here are great - u just jump on the back of a motorbike and they take u were u want.

We went the Brazil V Vietnam friendly at the national stadium 2 days ago . That was brilliant. Brazil were on their way to the olympics - Ronaldinho was captain, they won 2 nil. I only saw about 10 foreigners at the game. I dont think we were even supposed to there after talking to some of the locals at the match. We bought tickets from touts ouside the ground for 700000 dong (about 20 quid). It was some experience! The army and police were everywhere - real communist style soldiers with big tazer sticks and and riot gear - scary s***!

That same night I stayed up all night and saw the maddest thing ever in the morning - half of Hanoi (which is a major city) are exercising at 530 in the morning - it was like something out of a strange movie. People in their pyjamas out on the streets doin aerobics and other forms of exercise. Its indescribable, you really need to see it - it was class.

Vietnam so far is brilliant - I dunno were all the bad reports come from I think the people are great here.

Were off to Halong bay tomorrow (32 in the group) for 3 days so I'll have no contact.

Im having probs getting photos online - its a whole handling at the minute, but Im on face book now and theres a load of photos on there.
