Begrudgingly left Sri Lanka yesterday.
I've spent the last week or so hanging out with a local fisherman and his family in a small fishing village on the south coast. this place was great, no hotels, no tourists, proper rural. The people extended such hospitality towards me it was sometimes difficult to accept. I was given a place to stay, fed fresh (really fresh) fish to the point of destruction and entertained with large volumes of coconut arrak (the local tipple)!! No payment was accepted but i went on my way promising to find a nice western boy to marry their daughter (STUNNING by the way... any offers???). then traveled back north to spend a couple of days with my freinds who had made it all possible. They were sad to see me go but i have promised to return, someday...
Now in india i miss the friendliness of the sri lankans. inda already seems much bigger and scarier compared to the buddist sri lanka. the two countries deffinately dance to a differnt vibe. Anyway, i've found my way out of the city pretty sharpish and settled myself in yet another idylic, sleepy litle beach town with a definite backpacker vibe. Figured i'd stay here for a bit and collect my thoughts. Everything's a bit big to contemplate at the moment.
