hi everyone,

having a fab time in italy. we have been in rome the last three days and arrived in venice yesterday. rome was fantastic - it really is an amazing city and we wished we could have stayed longer. we went to see the colloseum, st peter's basillica, the vatican museums and the sistine chapel. also did a city bus tour to see other historic buildings and the trevi fountains - quite a sight! the sun shone on us the whole time we were there and as you will see from the pics we had special visitor who joined us for the rome part of the tour.

we arrived in venice yesterday eve, we are staying on an island directly opposite st marks square - have fab views of the whole city. we spent today wandering the pretty streets and window shopping. also went to the top of the bell tower for panoramic views over the city as well as having a chocolate icecream in st marks' sqaure. the weather has been gorgeous, not a cloud in sight and really hot - rebecca has got sunburnt today (emily was sensible and put suncream on!) we are going to go on a boat down the grand canal tomorrow and also visit a few of the nearby islands.
