Now spent nearly a week in byron bay, still enjoying it! We´ve decided to try and find some work and stay for a month, more or less.

We all tried a bit of surfing yesterday after terry who owns cool cats surfing club talked us into it after the 4th time, and lowering the price from $49 to $35 for 4 hours, which is really cheap. Getting up at 8 was tough though. We headed down to the beach for 9 15, the waves were small, and conditions were perfect apparently...and the sharks dont come close to the shore until the evening which was comforting!

After an hour or so of boring talk and pretending to paddle and stand up on the board, we headed into the water. I think it took me two goes to stand up and actually surf! Sandy claims he was the first one, but im not to sure!! In the end, after several failed attempts to surf we all surfed our guaranteed 40ft, and more! After a while we all were doing pretty well, alex was doing average! ha ha. I got smacked in the head by another persons board...he was in my wave man!! Alex and sandy collided resulting in sandy jumping about 8ft into the air to try and avoid hitting her...that was funny, and alex hurt her ankle, she had it bandaged up, bit is ok now i think! after getting a lot of sympathy from sandy. It was really good though, we all enjoyed it...the sea was warmer than being outside!

After getting back to the hostel we hired some push bikes (piles of s***!) into town, and got a pizza, from the best pizza place EVER! eagle boys! mmmmm. We ended up going for a bike ride near the lighthouse and around the area...for alex, this was her first ride on a bike for 12 years!! and after nearly getting hit by a truck, we thought it would be safer to get home before it got dark. Got back ok, made some food, and watched a couple of films before hitting the hay! For me, i had to be up in the morning again, as i decided to go surfing again! I was only charged $25 so i thought, why not! Sandy and alex stayed in. And now here i am after another day of riding the waves..i used a smaller board this time, which was harder, and i learnt how to turn etc etc. NARLEY DUDE!!!

Not much planned apart from a birthday party in the hostel on friday night, which should be a laugh. Job searching and the beach also on the agenda!
