We started our day with bird feeding at the campground. At 8:00 they feed the Lorikeet birds and it is amazing. There were literally hundreds of birds that landed on our arms and heads. They are beautiful birds that look like small parrots. (it did kind if freak me out to have them land on my head!!)
This was the day Randy was waiting for! We sailed the Great Barrier Reef! We went on an all day sail from Airlie Beach to Bali Hai Reef and Island to swim and snorkel. It was a perfect arrangement as captain and owner of the boat allowed Randy to take the helm for the trip. It was just us and 2 other woman who sailed a 36 foot boat. The weather was a combination of conditions. It was very easy sailing with sun and then we had showers mid way back which was much stronger winds. Everyone was happy!
We were fortunate to have a pod of dolphin swim next to us for part of the way to the island.
The snorkeling was really exceptional. We put on the stinger suits and away we went. The coral was the best we have seen and there was a large variety of fish. The temp of the water is a very warm 86 degrees.
We finished the day by cooking fresh prawn caught locally for dinner. Doesn't get much better!!

Tunny Wow! Sounds absolutely amazing-- to experience sailing the Great Barrier Reef. The snorkeling sounds great too.
