Today was a day of travel. We drove for about 10 hours up the Pacific Coast hwy. We stopped here in Mackay which is about another 3 hour drive to the Whitsunday Island area where we plan to spend a few days. We drove through Rockhampton today which was one of the worst hit areas by the flood. The city has many rivers running through it. We could see how high the water had been by the marks on the trees but that was the only signs of flooding. The rivers have all receded within their banks and everything seems back in order. Rockhampton is the start of the Great Barrier Reef which extends about 1000 miles toward the north.
Again driving along lots of sugar cane and fruit farms.
Randy is pleased that we're getting about 22 mpg with the camper.
