Yesterday was spent at sea which gave us an opportunity to still recover from jet lag. Today we went on a tour of Florence. We went to the Accademia where Michelangelo's "David" is on display. It took him 3 years to complete and was impressive. The detail is amazing!
We then had lunch at the castle of Napoleon's sister. We were wowed by the grandeur of the dining hall! We had a typical Italian lunch. First course of lasagna and second course of meat, potatoes, and vegetables with dessert. And a glass of champagne and unlimited wine.
We did manage to proceed to move on with our tour visiting the Uffizi Museum and Gallery. Here we saw remarkable paintings including pieces from Michelangelo and Da Vinci. Our guide was very informative.
It was a very interesting day and we had fun with others from the ship
