The Rosa and Andy Experience
Damas y Cabelleros,
Can I just say I'm loving this whole talking Spanish mixed with a bit of Portuguese and if they're lucky a touch of German and Italian!!
Hannah and Hannah's mum, Peru was amazing! I fell in love with Cusco. The people were so friendly, the bars were so much fun (Mama Africa rules and how cool that you can watch a film whilst having a drink!?), and the trip to Macchu Picchu was awesome.
We'd been warned about the s***ty insects so took plenty of insect repellent and i literally soaked myself in the stuff (although I must say Andy was very adament about re-applying every 10 minutes!)but noone told us (or at least made us listen) about taking sunscreen!! We got stupidly sunburnt on out noses but now thankfully its gone down!
I tried the traditional Alpaca meat before I knew what it was was.. Andy stuck to his trustworthy steak! It was very tasty but when we saw what they were on the Sacred Valley tour I felt evil. In case you're wondering what it is... I'm stroking it in one of the pictures where there's a man with a llama. Poor little b*****.The llamas are a whole different story! We had a close encounter with a few of them up in Macchu Pichu.
On our last day in Cusco we went on a sacred Valley tour and were shown round Calca, Urambamba, Ollantayumbo and Chincero (for those of you who care) and was a really nice ned to the stay there before heading back to Lima where we met up with Hannah's cousin!!!
Oscar and his girlfriend took us round the city at night and showed us all the major sights, which was really good of them. Chavo was really sorry he couldn't make it but it was cool because we got to see Plaza Mayor at night, where the Government Palace is, Mira Flores, San Isidro and Larco Mar. Am very glad he showed us all of that because that night and the next day I spent being sick!! Don't know what I ate but it wasn't a nice experience and Andy started feeling crap too so we were dreading our flight to Buenos Aires!!
But.... it was all good and after resting all day yesterday we've been out and about today and Buenos Aires is something else. There is such a vibrant atmosphere about the place, I love it! Haven't managed to get Andy to do a tango class but we are hopeflly gonna see a show tomorrow night! yay!
Doh written too much again!
Oh but have to tell you this... the Greeno is talking the lingo! He's actually quitre good and picked it up really quickly!
Right, take care everyone!
