We left Thailand eventually, the train was over an hour late and we ended up traveling for over 35 hours in total, but we did sleep for some of it as it was an overnight train. We thought it would be really uncomfortable and impossible to sleep on but they really aren't that bad and had we a decent night sleep in the end. We arrived in Butterworth and had to get the ferry over to the island of Penang where we were staying. It was the hottest day we have had so far, so we decided to have a wonder round the shopping mall where it was air-conditioned. Later we went for some drinks in some of the local bars which was fun, we all ended up getting quite pissed and dancing with some horrible fat guy who was off his nut. Today we went up Penang hill in a cable car which was fun. Once up the top which, we all assumed was going to be a bit boring there was loads to do, we were so wrong! We started by getting our photo taken with 2 snakes. We also got a postcard made of us but we cant decide who to send it to maybe one of our families or mike because he is terrified of snakes!! Then we walked over the Forest on a treetop walkway, sort of like the gibbon experience but a mini version.
