Hello again,

We had a good time in Langkawi, although we had a couple of days of bad weather. We hired a car and drove all around the island, dodging monkeys, chickens, dogs and cattle, not to mention the crazy scooter drivers. Makes a change from the cyclists in Cambridge. Once the drizzle cleared we went up on a cable car for an amazing view of the island, then relaxed on the beach.

We're now in Laos. We had a couple of days in Vientiane, the capital. Julien enjoyed the many French restaurants, then we got the overnight bus to Luang Prabang, which is lovely. Really relaxed atmosphere and lots of nice old colonial buildings.
