Last night and tonight we are at a park between Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour. We travelled from Rollingstone and called at Bowen on the way. Found a great site at Bowen for future stops. Most of the trip was through cane fields and veggie fields. Airlie Beach is not all that impressive with all the takeaway food outlets and backpackers everywhere but we had to have a look. We are 60kms north of Townsville and back on the coast. Had a bit of a problem today with a rock going through the front window of the van. Have sourced acouple of "Beware Crocodiles"signs to do a patch job tomorrow. Weather is still great. Left afew new friends at Mareeba with arrangements to meet again next year. More photos tomorrow.

We are all packed ready to start back south tomorrow. Last night there was a final party with some fancy dress as you can see from the photos. One of the McCarthys was crowned best female dancer(guess who). This has been the best three weeks we have ever spent on holidays and we will be returning for a longer period next year. Week 3 As you can see from the photos we have been out and about to local areas. Everywhere you go there is another farming area with a different crop growing. We spent a day in Kuranda doing the tourist thing and then several hours watching the hippies and aboriginals that come out after the last tourist train. We will be her for another week before having to start the trip home down the coast.

The sun is shining and the head is fine after State of Origin. The hosts here put on a great night with hotdogs and chicken wings and heaps of music. As you can see from the photos the "dancing queens" were at it again. We went on a tour yesterday to Tinaroo Dam and had big cheese platter for lunch at Milla Milla.
