Day trip today to Lark Quarry about 110 km south west of Winton where ther are hundreds of dinosaur tracks from a stampede 95 million years ago. They used these tracks to work out the dinosaur mechanics for Jurassic Park movie. Finished the trip with a detour to the west on the plains through station country. Lots of grass but not many cattle.

Camped for the night at Crawfords Creek, 45 km south east of Winton. Good site with plenty of other travelling grey nomads. Had a fire and watched the sun go down over a paddock with Murray Grey and Santa cattle.(Enough to make me twitchy). Moved on to Winton for the next 3 nights to recharge, wash and visit dinosaurs.

Good camp site on Barcoo River bank in town. Spent the morning at the old wool scour. Great old buildings and machinery and the tour was led by an old wool presser that grew up in Moree in the 1950's so I had a bit in common. Afternoon in the spa pool. Temperature today was 22 after a cool night. Off to Longreach tomorrow

Travelled from Wyandra and hit the bad roads at last. On the black soil the bitumin has waves and hollows. Nice spot on the lake at Tambo for lunch with all the other grey nomads. Travelling on to Blackall for the next 2 nights.

Tonight we are at Wyandra between Cunnamulla and Charleville. Great free camp behind the school. Rained all day on the way from Cobar but the sun came out at the end of the day. Saw plenty of goats,pigs, roos and emus but managed not to hit any. Moving on to Blackall tomorrow and will stop for 2 nights and enjoy the artesian spa. Then on to Longreach.
