Well my trip is near enough at the end..:( but ive had a great week in Melbourne. Kirsty and I both arrived last weds and we stayed at Sarah and Kates for 2 nites.in Prahan.fabulous hospitality a la penthouse dorm! We drank lots of wine and went out for dinner, and in the day we hit the shops in Melbourne where i purchased my Ugg boots! life a la sydney! is a good 1! i will have had about a week in Sydney when i leave tonight..its been really nice to be in 1 place for a while! ive been on the ferry to Taronga Zoo, Manly and Olympic Park (near where steve lives) and met Tess in Bondi Beach for a big catch up! Anzac day was on saturday, which is a big memorial service throughout australia..must be the only place in the world when everyone goes to the pub, drinks beer and plays 2 up in celebration....

"when it rains it really bloody rains" here in the tropics...this last week has been pretty eventful. The nice, hot sunshine turned to torrential downpours on my last day in cairns, the kind of rain that soaks you through the bone in 2 seconds flat. Before i got the night bus (11hours) i met up with all the people id met for our $10 meal deal at the Woolshed and i arrived in airlie the following morning, with hope of sunshine.. this lasted about 12hours...

Well, ive had a busy few days. I landed in cairns on saturday morning at 8am, the hostel i had booked was miles out of town so i decided to relocate to the centre and met a kelly from indiana..who was also on her own so that was a good start. Saturday was just soaking up the sun and once id purchased my havanna's and a sim card i went down to the lagoon and sunbathed.
