I have had a very busy last couple of weeks. My time has been taken up by getting up very early or staying up late to watch the Rugby World Cup, trying to find new premises for work and trying to calm the clients down as they don't like any changes to routine, and then had Kat's birthday and Gemma's wedding to celebrate and a holiday to the Gold Coast to fit in!
Work was hectic in the last week, but then we had a planned week off and I've made the most of it. For the long weekend we celebrated Kat's birthday at the minus 5 bar in Sydney and I had to wear gloves, coat and boots as the temperature was minus 17, the seats, sculptures and even the glasses were made of ice. Cool! Literally! On the Sunday it was the long-awaited rugby league grand final and this was a big occassion as Manly were in it. Unfortunately, they were soundly beaten, but I had my holiday the next morning to comiserate with. We flew to the Gold Coast in Queensland to Surfers Paradise. It was great. I just wanted to relax on the beach and swim in the ocean and go out and do nice stuff in the evening. And that's exactly what I did! The weather was great, really hot. We were away from Monday to Friday. We were away for Kat's birthday on the Wednesday, but were too hung over to go to the theme park that day as we had planned, so we went the next day. That's about as adventurous as we got!
On returning to Sydney, we had Gemma from work's wedding on the Saturday. It was at 11 am and the drink flowed from then. I have NEVER drunk so much champagne! We moved onto a local pub after the reception and then rushed back to Manly at 11pm to watch the England vs Australia rugby world cup quarter final. I wasn't holding my breath, but was expecting a low scoring game. Was so pleased that England won. Amazing beating the Aussies when I'm here! It was 2am before a very drunk girl headed home after a joyeous day! Back to work tomorrow. Boo. And I do my first shift of vacation care for the children with disabilities on Thursday. Have been successful with a recruitment agency to do child care shifts too. I might work on Friday for them. Busy, busy.
Going to try and make the most of my time left with Ames as she leaves before the end of the month and am already not looking forward to it! Chin up. Until next time, peeps. xx
