What a long journey to get to Koh Pha Ngan! Our first destination! A 6 hour coach from Leeds to London Heathrow, an 11 hour 20 min flight from London to Bangkok, a 1 hour 35 min flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui, a half hour mini bus ride from Koh Samui airport to the boat pier, an hour ferry ride from Koh Samui pier to Koh Pha Ngan pier, and then a taxi ride from the pier to our accomodation!! And we made it!! With about 4 hours sleep over the last few days- it doesn't feel real we are that spaced out! But the journey begins here. We have planned so much and waited so long for this, and it's finally happening!
Everything about the start of the travelling went pretty much to plan. It started snowing in good old England before we left so I had a little moment of worry about not being able to get the airport, but all was okay. All the worrying about getting a Thai visa was fine too, they just stamped our passport and that was that!
We eventually got to our accommodation a day after we set off and it was lovely. It had actual air con- not just a fan, a nice ensuite with a walk in shower and a nice big double bed- that was as hard as a rock!
We were so tired when we got here it was ridiculous, but we decided to get ready to head out. Once we were ready we opened the curtains and it was pissing it down! And we thought we had escaped to lovely weather! This stopped us going anywhere and we decided to have a nap until 3pm- but didn't get up until just after 7pm. We then went to the bar on our complex and got some food before it finished. Nath got spring rolls (but managed to order two portions instead of one!!) and I got fried rice with chicken which was beautiful! After our lovely meal we then retired back to bed to recover from our jet lag!!
